Manchester United will hold a recruitment meeting on Monday as they look to push ahead on imminent transfers.

Deals are lined up for Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee and Bayern Munich‘s Matthijs de Ligt while they will also determine whether to put forward another bid for Everton centre back Jarrad Branthwaite.

United are still looking to recoup funds to spend on new signings and midfielder Donny van de Beek is joining Girona for around £450,000 with add ons up to £16m and a sell-on clause. 

The 27-year old cost United £35m when he arrived from from Ajax in 2020 and has endured unsuccessful loan spells at Everton and most recently Frankfurt who decided not to take on a purchase option. 

United are also awaiting further contact from Marseille, Lazio and Juventus over a potential deal for Mason Greenwood.

United manager Erik ten Hag is keen to get deals concluded for both Netherlands players

The Englishman spent last season on loan at LaLiga side Granada where he won the club’s player of the year award and is set to leave United on a permanent deal.

Meanwhile, manager Erik ten Hag is set to get pre-season training underway on Monday ahead of an upcoming tour of the United States. 

Some of the squad are due to return for pre-season training on Monday and are expected to be joined by new assistant Ruud van Nistelrooy who is in England ahead of signing a two year contract.

The former United striker is understood to have already spoken to compatriot Zirkzee.

The Bologna forward has indicated he is ready to join United after the Netherlands’ involvement in the Euros with United discussing whether to pay his £34m buy-out clause or offer a different payment structure. 

Zirkzee’s former club Bayern Munich have a 50 per cent sell-on clause and are also looking for around £42.5m from United for Dutch defender de Ligt.

Bayern gave medicals over the weekend to Joao Palhinha ahead of his £47m switch from Fulham and Michael Olise who has officially completed a £52m move from Crystal Palace.
