Astro’s Playroom has a new Returnal trophy — here’s how to unlock it

If you’ve been waiting patiently for your chance to unlock another one of Astro’s Playroom’s trophies, I’m happy to report that the time has finally come. Here’s the Astro’s Playroom Returnal trophy solution for unlocking the second of four DLC trophies as Team Asobi continue to build up hype for one of the hottest upcoming PS5 games of 2024, Astro Bot.

Astro’s Playroom Returnal riddle solution

The second of Astro’s Playroom’s DLC trophies for 2024 has gone live on Friday, July 5, 2024 in a free update available for all PS5 owners. Below, we’ll detail exactly how to find and unlock the Selene Vassos bot, themed after the protagonist of Returnal.

Unlike the far trickier Astro’s Playroom riddle for Bloodborne, this Returnal-themed trophy is a lot easier to unlock. To find Selene Vassos, simply go to the space rock in Deep Dataspace where you get the minigun.

To the left-hand side of the minigun you’ll find a little outcrop on the rock to stand on — stay put for two seconds and Selene shall appear.

You’ll note the hint this time refers to a little astronaut picture. From here, continue the level as normal, blasting through some (but not all) of the enemies ahead of you. Climb the stairs in this space section and use the railings to work your way back to where you got the minigun.

On these railings, if you look closely, you should find a little astronaut toy lying on the ground. He’s a little hard to see because he’s dressed in white — the same color as the rails. Once you find him, you’ll notice that he glows as you stand on him. That’s how you’ll know for certain you’re standing on him for the next bit.

Now, to free Selene Vassos and unlock the trophy, all you have to do is die while standing on this astronaut. To do this, you’ll need to bait one of the little enemies below into shooting you to death. If you accidentally killed them all on the way here, just jump off the edge to reset and work your way back up. It’ll take you less than a minute.

Voila! You’ve just earned another Astro’s Playroom PS5 trophy for your collection.
