The opening date for a huge new Edinburgh bargain store at Fort Kinnaird shopping centre has been confirmed.
In April we reported how Home Bargains announced plans to move into the spacious unit next to Superdrug at the retail park on the outskirts of the city, and work has been ongoing behind the scenes in recent weeks.
Signs on the windows as well as a huge poster advertising the store nearby have appeared recently with an opening date of September 14 earmarked for the new bargain shop.

The chain is also recruiting for positions at the new branch, with signs in the window reading: “Jobs at Home Bargains now recruiting. Your big new store coming soon – opening September 14, 2024.”
The store will offer up a range of discounted items including household goods, food, clothing and toys, adding to nearby branches at Craigmillar Shopping Centre and Meadowbank Retail Park.

Speaking at the time of the announcement in April, Liam Smith, centre director at Fort Kinnaird, said: “We’re really pleased that Home Bargains has chosen Fort Kinnaird as the location of its next store opening.
“We know the retailer is a firm family favourite with so many staples at an affordable price and I’m sure it’ll prove popular with our shoppers.”
