Manchester United have received competing bids from Marseille and Lazio for Mason Greenwood.
Greenwood has generated interest from at least six European clubs but Marseille and Lazio are the only clubs who have offered fees for the forward.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at La Liga side Getafe after United were forced to abandon plans to reintegrate him into their squad following a backlash from supporters.
Lazio considered signing Greenwood last year and discussions are ongoing with the Rome side and Marseille, where Roberto de Zerbi has taken over as coach.
Greenwood’s exile from United’s Carrington training complex is also expected to continue ahead of the players’ return for pre-season training on Monday.

United have prioritised finding Greenwood a new club and there are no plans for him to rejoin first team training after two-and-a-half years. Greenwood is out of contract next year.
Greenwood has not returned to Carrington since he was arrested in January 2022. Charges of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm were dropped in February 2023.
United sources last week described Greenwood’s probable departure as more “advanced” than Jadon Sancho’s.
Greenwood last played for United in their 1-0 victory over West Ham United on January 22 2022. He scored ten goals in 36 games for Getafe.
