Back to back Saturday Night’s Main Event specials, the still to be thrashed out “Transfer Window” and a Netflix debut will keep WWE busy until a February Royal Rumble kicks off WrestleMania 41 hype properly. That could mean you’ll see more weekly TV shows like this one throughout the rest of December and the entire month of January, especially on the blue side.

Raw’s imminent debut on Netflix means big things will be popping on Mondays. Fridays? Yeah, Fridays are anyone’s guess at this point. This wasn’t the sweetest serving of SmackDown action Triple H has treated his audience to, put it that way. It wasn’t bad by any means, but two relatively tame tournament matches, an unnecessary DQ result and an even less essential squash definitely knackered proceedings.

On the plus side, Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes. They continued warring over broken friendships, Randy Orton injuries and the WWE Title heading into this weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event. It says everything about the strength of this storyline that KO vs. Rhodes could’ve worked out well on a major PLE like the Rumble. SNME is next up though, so Trips placed their rematch from Bash In Berlin on that.

There was movement on The Bloodline front too. Roman Reigns fired out a challenge that’ll delight execs on certain streaming platforms, and Jimmy Uso stopped by to earn a broken jaw to go with his broken toe. Drew McIntyre made sure of that. Again, there’s a bit to sort out when it comes to this transfer business – what are the rules, how many picks does each brand get etc etc?

Here’s all the good and bad from Friday night before Saturday Night…featuring LA Knight!
