What Is Derby’s Start Like?
Derby will start the campaign away from home at Blackburn Rovers, who are managed by former Rams midfielder John Eustace, live on Sky Sports Football on Friday 9th August (8pm kick-off).
The Rams’ first home fixture back in the second tier will follow a week later against Middlesbrough at Pride Park Stadium on Saturday 17th August.
The opening month of the season will then be concluded with a trip to Watford on Saturday 24th August and a home fixture against Bristol City on Saturday 31st August.
Who Do Derby Play Over Christmas?
Derby’s festive fixtures are pretty tasty looking on paper!
A trip to Kenilworth Road to face Luton Town will start the Christmas programme on Saturday 21st December, before back-to-back home fixtures against West Bromwich Albion and Leeds United on Thursday 26th December and Sunday 29th December respectively to end 2024.
A short journey up the M1 to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday will start 2025 on Wednesday 1st January.
Who Do Derby Face Over Easter?
Easter comes at the back end of the season and Derby are once again scheduled to play on Good Friday and Bank Holiday Monday.
A home fixture against Luton Town is on the agenda on Friday 18th April, followed by a clash with West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Monday 21st April.
Who Do Derby Play At The End Of The Season?
Derby will end the 2024/25 campaign on home territory against Stoke City on Saturday 3rd May, while their final away game will see them head to Hull City on Saturday 26th April.
When Are The International Breaks?
There are four weekends scheduled where the Rams won’t be in action due to international football.
They are as follows: 7th/8th September 2024, 12th/13th October 2024, 16th/17th November 2024 and March 22nd/23rd 2025.
What About TV Selections?
From 2024/25, the EFL and its clubs will embark on a record domestic rights deal with broadcaster Sky Sports worth £935m over a five-year period.
Over 1,000 of the EFL’s 1,891 games across the Sky Bet EFL, Carabao Cup and Bristol Street Motors Trophy will be broadcast, with every one of the 72 EFL clubs to be featured live on Sky more than 20 times this season.
Within seven days of today’s EFL Fixture Release, all matches selected for broadcast for the period to the end of September will be announced, and before a ball is kicked of the 2024/25 season, all TV selections will be confirmed for the period up to the FA Cup third round in early January. This is a landmark commitment, providing fans and clubs up to five months’ notice, an increase from the five weeks’ notice given across the majority of the 2023/24 season.
In line with the uplift in matches, weekends where all divisions and the Premier League are scheduled to play, 10 regular weekend games across the three divisions will be broadcast, including 7 games at 12.30pm on a Saturday. This will include up to five Sky Bet Championship matches and up to five matches across Sky Bet League One and Sky Bet League Two.
Sky Bet EFL fixtures will be broadcast via either an existing Sky Sports channel or Sky Sports+ – a new way for fans to discover and stream live sport. Integrated into the current Sky TV experience and the revamped Sky Sports mobile app, Sky Sports+ is available at no extra cost for subscribers of the full Sky Sports package. All televised fixtures will also be available on streaming service NOW.
