After you’ve purchased your Antler bag – ready to be packed – there are a few things you must do before jetting off, whether that’s for a long or short-haul flight. Andy Squirrell, Chief Commercial Officer at Titan Travel has revealed the ten things you need to know.
Before a short-haul getaway:
- Check roaming tariffs on your mobile phone, and purchase a sim or credits if needed
- Take photocopies or screenshots of all your important documents, including passport, credit cards and driving licence – this will help in the event that your luggage gets lost
- Buy a sturdy suitcase, some packing cubes and luggage scales to help you pack efficiently without going over your airline baggage allowance
- Make sure your phone is charged and take a charger in your hand luggage – many people rely on boarding passes on their phone
- Take some cash in the currency of your destination – not everywhere takes card and it’s useful for tipping
Before a long-haul or extended trip:
- Make sure your passport has at least six months on it, some places require this, especially if you’re staying somewhere for an extended period of time
- Check whether you need any documentation for entry into your destination, this could be paper or digital
- Take extra medication with you for your entire trip and carry some in your hand luggage in case you become unwell on the flight or if your suitcase gets lost
- Book your holiday or extra activities through a tour operator such as Titan Travel or TUI – they can help plan your dream getaway without the added stress and with financial protection
- Take out travel insurance and make sure it covers you throughout your stay
