Tripadvisor’s 2024 Travellers’ Choice Awards for the Best Things To Do In The UK, which is released today, has been compiled using feedback from guests.

Topping the league is a tour of London boozers, from Liquid History Tours.

The half-day guided walkabout takes in some of the city’s most historic ale houses, including Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese in Fleet Street, and lets you marvel at The Blackfriar’s mosaics.

Tours from £25, but you will need to buy your own pints.

In second place is The Original Harry Potter Locations Tour from See Your City.

It immerses you in the London sights that featured in the boy wizard franchise, from Southwark View Point and Borough Market to the Millennium Bridge and Covent Garden.

There are quizzes to test your Potter knowledge, plus the chance to earn points for your Hogwarts house.

The two-hour tour costs from £16.

In third place is the Beatles Magical Mystery tour of Liverpool aboard a quirky themed coach.

Visit Fab Four sights, including Penny Lane, Strawberry Field, Paul McCartney’s childhood home and The Cavern Club where the band performed 292 times.

Prices for the two-hour trip cost from £19.95 each.

At number four is something for the sweet-toothed among us.

The Chocolatarium’s chocolate tour of Edinburgh teaches you how to make Scottish-themed treats, before sampling flavours such as haggis, chilli and gin.

The 90-minute tour starts from £25 a head.

Footie fans will get a kick out of the experience in fifth place — the Manchester City Etihad Stadium tour.

The 75-minute tour costs from £26 per person.

A trip to the Highlands from Edinburgh is at number six.

Led by The Hairy Coo company, it takes in Stirling Castle, Glencoe and Ben Nevis, as well as a cruise on Loch Ness.

In seventh place is another historic gem — two hours exploring Bristol’s biggest public air raid shelter and St Nicholas Market. Prices start from £12.50 a head.

The Jack The Ripper tour run by Discovery Tours is eighth.

It is a two-hour trip along the alleyways and secret spots once stalked by the capital’s notorious serial killer.

It is even spookier after dark, and prices start at £15.50 each.

An Edinburgh Castle guided walking experience from Little Fish Tours is ninth.

Skip the queue and spend 90 minutes discovering the history of the castle, dungeons and Argyle Battery. From £34 per person.

And at ten is another first-class tour, this time of Oxford University.

It is run by Footprints Tours and a student guide will spend two hours offering insight into the history of the city and its famed university. Prices from £24.99.
